Due to the generosity of several local businesses, RALPH,the Department’s narcotic detection dog, has a re-fitted k-9 vehicle.  Sergeant Mark Smith led an effort to re-fit an old cruiser for use by the k-9. Prior to that, R and his handler, School Resource Officer Kurt Carpenter, used the department’s 4 wd. This vehicle was not meant for this purpose. The “new” k-9 vehicle has a specially designed rear seat, fans for cooling the vehicle  in the summer, and is designed for k-9’s.  The unit was purchased and installed after donations from Florence Savings Bank and Waste Management. In addition. Pleasant Street Auto Body donated some body work and re-painting on the vehicle.
