At approximately 1:58 AM , a Tractor Trailer truck driven by Joseph S. Lemire of Columbia Ct. struck the Historic Aldrich Mill on Aldrich Street. The truck was attempting to deliver a load of sod to the Orchards when the driver took a wrong turn.

The  top the the Trailer unit, owned by Hirschbach and Son of South Sioux City Nebraska, got caught on the uppper wall of the unit while trying to cross the bridge over Batchelor Brook, causing damage to the wall and roof. Cost to repair is unknown. The road was closed until approximately 5:30 AM when the truck was removed. The accident was investigated by Sgt. Kevin O’Grady  and Ptl. Bob Ash. The Mill is featured on the Town seal.
