In honor of Mother’ s Day, Granby prepares its own White Ribbon Campaign for Tuesday, May 12th.

The White Ribbon Campaign (WRC) is the largest effort in the world of men working to end violence against women. Since 1991, Men in over 55 different countries have worn white ribbons on a specific day as a symbol of men’s opposition to violence against women.

Wearing a white ribbon is a personal pledge to never commit, condone or remain silent about violence against women and girls. Next Tuesday, May 12th, the Granby PD in collaboration with our Junior/Senior High School will invite all men in our community to wear a white ribbon and to take the WRC pledge. At 1:45pm, male students and faculty will be invited to take a public pledge in the high school cafeteria, led by Officer Kurt Carpenter and Charlene Korza, School Social Worker.
