Fire Chief Russ Anderson has designated Fire Lanes in front of each of the schools. There is NO PARKING at these locations. This has become a problem, particularly at nght during events when parking is at a premium. For a brief period officers will be issueing warnings to vehicles parked there. After that vehicles may be towed and cited.

A car operated by Barbara Vanderpoel of Ohm Circle S. Hadley, struck the rear end of a vehicle operated by Juliette G. Woodcock, 72 of Phins Hill Manor, Granby. Woodcock was transported to Coeley Dickenson hospital due to neck pain. The accident was investigated by Ptl. Jason Richard.

We have experienced a few daytime house breaks in recent weeks. A suspect has been identified in several of them due to the cooperation of witnesses. If you see anything supicious PLEASE call the Department.

At 9:39 Am, officers responded to a report of a head on accident in the vicinity of 86 Pleasant Street Granby MA.
Upon arrival officers found that a 2003 Dodge Dakota pick-up truck operated by LORI POLVERINI, age 45, of Pleasant Street Granby, was travelling south on Pleasant street and had crossed the center line and struck a 2003 2004 Ford Econoline van travelling northbound on Pleasant Street, operated by a GLENN KEEEDY, age 45, of Windham Drive E Longmeadow MA.
Keedy had serious injuries and was taken to Baystate Medical Center. Polverini was transported to Holyoke Hospital with unknown injuries.
Polverini was cited for failure to stay with-in marked lanes and operating to endanger. It is believed she may have been text messaging just prior to the accident.
Ptl. Wade Dubois, Ptl. Jason Richards, Ptl. James White and det. Barbara Fenn investigated the accident. Ambulances responded from Granby and S Hadley

There will be an Alumni basketball game held the Saturday after Thanksgiving, November 28th, at 1pm. Both male ands female former Granby HS players are needed. Players are asked to make a $15. donation. Proceeds will go to the Granby HS Sports program and the Pat Curran project. Ptl. Carpenter and RALPH
Officers responded to a disturbance at a Pleasant Strret apartment early Saturday Morning and found that a male suspect had fled the scene after breaking in and assaulting the female occupant. Ptl Carpenter and RALPH, the Department’s drug/tracking K-9, were called in and tracked the suspect to a location in the vicinity of Amherst Street. Felipe Rivera, age 22, of Nassau Street ,Chicopee, was subsequently arrested and charged with Breaking and Entering in the nightime, assault and battery amd intimidation of a witness. He was held and transported to the Hampshire County Regional Lock-up.
Ralph has been busy lately, assisting Westfiled and Agawam Police with tracks of suicidal individuals, and assisting Southwick at their motocross event . He has also made several drug “finds” in the past few months.

Officers responded to a MVA on Porter Street at approximately 10:49pm Wednesday Night. Upon arrival they found asingle car accident. A motor vehicle, operated by Kyrsten Buckley-Brawner, age 31, of 133 Aldrich Street, Granby, had struck two trees. She was not reportedly injured. She was cited for failure to stay withing marked lanes and operating with a suspended license.

Take one Motorcycle, add in a large pothole, and combine some alcohol and the result is, as expected, not good. On Sunday at 4:11 PM, Chester W. Sarafin, age 63 of Belchertown, struck the above pot hole while exiting Getty Gas Station, resulting in his being knocked from the bike. When officers responded to the accident they found him to be under the influence of alcohol. He was subsequently arrested and brought to the station where he blew a .13 on the breathalyzer.

At 12:02 AM, Officers responded to a report of a MV accident in the vicinity of 111 Amherst Street.Upon arrival they found a MV, operated by CASEY SHANNAHAN , 20, of Pelham, had struck a tree. She was transported to Baystate with unknown injuries. A Citation was issued for a marked lanes violation
