Granby Police and Ambulance Personnel Respond to Motor Vehicle Crash Involving a Pedestrian

On February 20, 2015 at approximately 06:22am, Granby Public Safety Dispatch received a 911 call reporting a male and female on the side of the road, near 17 Pleasant St., with an unknown concern. A second 911 call came in reporting that there was an accident involving a van and a pedestrian. Granby Police and Ambulance Personnel were dispatched to the scene. Upon arrival, officers found an elderly female victim lying in a snowbank being supported by a male party, later identified as the operator of the van. Ambulance and Police Personnel attended to the victim and she was transported to Baystate Medical Center with apparent life threatening injuries. The name of the victim is being withheld pending notification of family members. The accident is under investigation by Sergeant Gary Poehler and Officer Wayne Mark of the Granby Police Department, Massachusetts State Police assigned to the District Attorney’s Office, and the State Police Collision Analysis & Reconstruction Section.

Parking Ban in Effect Starting at 10pm this Evening

The Town of Granby would like to announce that the Parking Ban will be in effect from 10pm today, February 1st, until Tuesday Feb 3rd at 4pm. This means that there is no on-street parking allowed.
