Updated information from the Granby Police Department
On Thursday September 9th the Granby Police Department received information from the Massachusetts State Police ICAC (Internet Crimes against Children) Unit that a computer IP address that was traced back to Granby was involved in child pornography. An investigation began and a Search Warrant was requested and granted for 11 Darrel Avenue in Granby on Saturday. During the search evidence of child pornography was discovered and Mr. Eric Lacoste, age 34, was taken in to custody. Mr. Lacoste was charged with posing a child under eighteen years of age in a state of nudity for the purpose of reproduction in any visual material, Massachusetts Common Law, Solicitation of a Felony, Possession of Child Pornography subsequent offense, Disseminating Child Pornography, and the Dissemination of Harmful Matter to a Minor subsequent offense. Mr. Lacoste was ordered to be held on $250,000 bail until his arraignment at the Eastern Hampshire District Court in Belchertown on Monday morning. The investigation is on-going and being conducted by Officer James White and Detective Barbara Fenn of the Granby Police Department, as well as members of the Massachusetts State Police Detective Unit attached to the Northwestern District Attorney David Sullivan’s Office.
